What is the purpose of a degree from UBU?
An advanced degree from UBU is intended to confer recognition on the work of an individual UBM minister’s life. The self-designed course format is meant to help UBM ministers develop an increased awareness of their spiritual strengths and to formalize a statement of those strengths that can be shared with others in the brotherhood of mankind.

What are the requirements for a Master’s degree?
A Universal Brotherhood Master’s Degree begins with a vision statement defining an active Universal Brotherhood  Minister’s personal goals and continues through the formulation of a self-designed study, and results in a
Master’s Thesis that delineates the minister’s spiritual growth and awareness. This thesis can take any number of forms, but its underlying premise must be about the way in which the scholar’s ministry has grown.

What are the requirements for a Doctor of Divinity degree?
The only prerequisites are that a candidate be an active Universal Brotherhood  minister (with current annual dues paid in full), and that a candidate have a  Master’s Degree from Universal Brotherhood. The application process must define not only the course of study for the doctorate, but also must incorporate a community service component in which the candidate develops and implements an ongoing product, project, or program that goes out into the world and benefits the brotherhood of mankind. Physical documentation of this community service is a requirement before the degree can be conferred.

What can you expect to gain from the work?
The benefits of pursuing an advanced degree through Universal Brotherhood can be defined with the term 'life altering'. The outcome of the process results in personal growth,  increased spiritual awareness and heightened appreciation for the brotherhood of mankind.

Who will assist you in your degree program?
You will be assigned a faculty coach who is an active member of the UBU Board of Regents. This person (your own personal cheering squad) will be available by phone or email to offer advice, serve as a sounding board, and be the liaison between you and the rest of the Board. If you live in the same geographical area as your coach, face-to-face meetings are a distinct possibility.

We recommend that you contact your faculty coach at least once a month throughout your degree process. Drafts of your thesis or dissertation will be reviewed by your coach, who is trained to help you achieve a successful degree completion.

Your relationship with the University:
Although your faculty coach will be your main contact with the university, all regents serving the board as well as the President are available to you should you ever have questions about the UBU process. The UBU administrator is another valuable resource, should you have any questions about procedures. We supply phone numbers and email contact information for each of these people. In addition, UBU Regents attend each semi-annual UBM conference, and would thoroughly enjoy talking with you about the UBU opportunities.
